Mediatek unveiled its new Octacore Helio P65 Chipset; supports for 48MP sensor

Mediatek just announced its next generation Helio P series processor, the Helio P65 Chipset as well as an improved NPU

The Mediatek Helio P65 Chipset is based on 12 nm FinFET node and features two Cortex-A75 and six Cortex-A55 cores with frequency speeds of up to 2GHz.

In terms of gpu it comes with Mali-G52 2EEMC2 core instead of the more powerful G72 cores used in the Helio P60/P70. MediaTek claims its A.I is twice as fast as the previous Helio P60 and P70 Chipset , and 30% faster than its “direct competitor” Chipset. Helio P65 supports RAM options of up to 4 or 8gb however the Chipset only supports single channel LPDDR4x Ram unlike P70 which supports dual channel LPDDR4x Ram and eMMC 5.1 storage type sadly no support for UFS storage.

In terms of camera sensor the Chipset hardware supports a 48MP Quad Bayer and Dual 16MP sensor but it can't record 4k video.

Speaking of Connectivity the Helio P65 Chipset supports true dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, GPS, GLONASS and Bluetooth v5.0.

As it's a midrange Chipset We can expect mediatek new Helio P65 Chipset to debut in upcoming phones specifically in midrange smartphone segment.
